Julia Sweeney worked on one of the better casts of Saturday Night Live. Since she left the show, she has worked as a script writer, done one-woman shows about surviving cancer and becoming an atheist, and written books. Her latest, If It isn’t One Thing, It’s Your Mother, collects personal essays primarily about her adoption of a Chinese baby, and how her life and ideas have changes as a result. It, and she, are both funny and wise.
