A program apropos of the Fourth of July, saluting five American composers — William Bolcom, John Corigliano, John Harbison, Joan Tower and Charles Wuorinen —all turning 75 this year! Join us for a birthday celebration on behalf of these composers as well as our nation. Ben Beilman performs John Corigliano’s beloved Red Violin: Chaconne; husband and wife duo Bill Bolcom and Joan Morris perform; and much more! Program also includes Charles Wuorinen’s Zoe for String Sextet (2013, world premiere); Six American Painters for Flute, Violin, Viola and Cello (2000) of John Harbison; Turning Points for Clarinet and String Quartet by Joan Tower and William Bolcom’s Songs for Mezzo-Soprano and Piano. Musical Conversation 7-7:30 PM. Tickets: $15 to $50, available at Organizer link above.
