We begin our 40th Season with the largest production Oregon Repertory Singers has ever presented. The 90 members of Oregon Repertory Singers will share the stage for two dynamic performances of Felix Mendelssohn’s masterwork composition, Elijah, accompanied by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra with baritone Richard Zeller singing the title role.
Elijah is often referred to as the prequel to Handel’s Messiah, and tells the story of one of the Old Testament’s greatest prophets with the full drama and power of an opera, only without staging. The audience will journey with the Singers as they summon the forces of nature to topple pagan gods, shatter the evils of darkness, and finally transport themselves into the great beyond! Performance repeats October 20, 4:00 pm. Tickets: $15 to $35, available at Brown Paper Tickets.
