Portland Baroque Orchestra: Concerti Bizzarri
These works, featuring unusual instruments in varied combinations, will fill your ears with new sounds, and put the skill of PBO’s talent center stage with soloists of Portland Baroque Orchestra performing on flute, recorder, oboe, viola d’amore, viola da gamba, trumpet and lute. Program includes Vivaldi’s Concerto for Trumpet and Oboe RV 563; Concerto for Lute in D Minor FWV L:d2 of Fasch and Telemann’s, Concertos featuring Flute, Recorder, Oboe d’amore, Trumpet, Viola d’amore and Viola da gamba. Monica Huggett, director and violin. PBO performers, guest artists and scholars discuss the music and topics related to concert programs one hour prior to each subscription series performance.
