Portland Playhouse: After The Revolution
What happens to family loyalty when you’ve been disillusioned? Proud and talented Emma Joseph is heir to a leftist family tradition and has become the public advocate for her late, famously blacklisted American Communist grandfather’s legacy, starting a fund in his name to fight for others who have been wrongly accused. But when evidence emerges that her grandfather may have indeed shared some secrets with the Soviets, Emma struggles to reconcile her disappointment with her political beliefs—and uncovers multi-generational fault lines in her family along the way.
Tamara Fisch directs this “smart, engrossing play” (The New York Times).
