Portland Wind Symphony opens its 26th season.

The program features trombone soloist John Warton in Thoughts of Love by Arthur Pryor. The love theme continues with a Suite on Greek Love Songs.

Highlights of the program are the historical and lively Divertimento for Band by Persichetti, and a wind band setting of Richard Strauss’ Allerseelen. Selections by Ticheli, Camphouse and Gillingham round out the concert, which will close with Sousa’s The Invincible Eagle.
