Salem Philharmonia Orchestra in Concert


The orchestra launches its sixth season with a program featuring Sibelius’ Finlandia; the Spanish-inspired Cello Concerto in d minor by Lalo, with principal cello Katherine Parks as soloist; and Beethoven’s Fourth Symphony. A free pre-concert talk by Music Director Sean Paul Mills begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets available at the door, at Willamette Valley Music Company, or online.

Parties of Note for the Oregon Symphony: Mountain Top Quartet


The Arnica String Quartet perform in a magnificent home at the top of Cooper Mountain during this fundraiser for the Oregon Symphony. A delicious dinner and drinks make up part of the evening as well, in addition to performances by Symphony musicians. Reserve tickets.

PDX Dancers Ad Hoc: Traces, October 21 & 22


Dancers Sada Naegelin and Mark Koenigsberg are long time members of Portland’s modern dance community. This intimate duet is based upon a simple idea: two people in relationship to one another moving together in space.Long-time Oregon Symphony violist Steve Price accompanies. Faure’ Requiem and Beethoven Symphony #6, October 21 & 23


Columbia Gorge sinfonietta and Voci Choir Combine Forces for Season Opening Concert. Gabriel Faure’s transcendent Requiem and Beethoven’s bucolic Pastoral symphony make up the audience-pleasing program for CGOA’s first concert of the season.
