With Drive, the Danish director Nicholas Winding Refn received renewed international attention. Now the NW Film Center is offering a retrospective of most of his films (while weirdly leaving out the Miss Marple adaptation he did for Britsh television [?!]). In this (admittedly amateurish) audio essay, I take a look at his career and track some of his significant themes.
