To All Classical Music Radio Station ~
Hi there, it is good to hear some good music, nice, relaxing, soothing music, after or during a 12-hr day. I am stationed and listening all the way from Djibouti, Africa. It is hot here, very hot, about 168 degrees hot. Thanks for being online.

Asia
Ningbo, China

Hi!
I currently live in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China (just across from Shanghai, on the other side of the Bay). When the bridge over the ocean is completed, it will only take two hours to get to Shanghai (almost double now).

Ningbo is a small city (1 million) but very pretty, beautiful gardens, relatively clean, and experiencing the incredible growth you see all over the country. Unfortunately, that often comes at the expense of traditional houses and neighborhoods, the environment, the poor, and all the other weaker groups in society.

I'm a Beaver!! but lived in San Jose, California, before coming to China in 2005. I teach "Oral English" at a small (9,000 students) public college but have been offered a position at a better university for the next academic year. So, I guess I'll stay one more year!

I LOVE listening to your radio station!! Thank you so much for your great work. VIVA LA MUSICA!!

C. del Real, M.S.

I listen online from Singapore. Great music!

I'm Portland born and Gresham raised but came to live in Asia in 1966 and have been here since. Piyawee and I both love Portland and, thanks to broadband, listen continually to your station. Having dialed into numerous other classical stations, we feel yours is the best, and that isn't just a chauvinistic sentiments. You do a great job.

Thanks.

Hello,
Sandy, Bedfordshire

I am writing to you from Sandy, Bedfordshire just about 50 miles due north of London England. I have been enjoying your programmes for some time now and I always prefer to log on to you rather than Classic Fm which is the leading classical station here in the UK. I think that your announcers are always most informative and have a most friendly way about them.
Kind regards
Kevan Morrison

Abruzzo, Italy

Good morning! I am listening your very pleasant Radio from a little town in Italy, spending my time surfing the Web during my convalescence. All Classical is the kind of Radio that laks in Italy, even though it fathered many Big Musicians! What a pity I can hear You only on Internet! All the best for your job and bye bye from Teresa M.

D'Agostino, Penne

Aalborg, Denmark

Hi, I would just like to thank you for your online classical radio station. It has brought me through endless pages of advanced engineering math, during my study for my math exams on friday and thursday next week.

Mange tak, as we say in Danish :) — pronounced mang-e (as "mango," just with an e) tak (just as "Tack" in Tick Tacks)

Venasque, France Venasque, France

Hello to everyone at Allclassical,
I'm winding up my stay in Venasque, listening to the station and enjoying some sunshine on my terrace, after several days of rain. Sunday I walked with friends, 2 of whom are shown with me on the little road just out of the village. The views of Mt. Ventoux were, and are, fabulous. My stay has been terrific, even including a concert/dinner at the Auberge in Venasque—2 Haydn quartets (op. 20, nos. 4 and 2) and Mozart's Clarinet Quintet K. 581, played on Baroque instruments to an appreciative audience of about 20. One of the other attendees told me (in French): "I floated!" Yes, that describes the reaction of everyone there. (Picture us bobbing about the room while the one waiter was trying to serve our dinner!)

My best to all, especially Sally and Robert,
Carole

Stuttgart, Germany

Hello! I am writing to you from Stuttgart, Germany. I am actually a long time resident of Vancouver, Washington. I am here in Germany on an exchange program for 6 months, I just wanted to let you that I am grateful for the online stream that you provide. 89.9 is what I listened to everyday back home, and despite there being high-quality radio around here, I like to fire up the computer and log on to allclassical.org to listen in on sounds of home. Thank you for all the wonderful music. :)

Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland

Hi, John, my name is Andrew Newman and I'm listening to you online from a very cold snowy little town in the west of Ireland called Claremorris. I'm just after finding your radio station on a classical music blog called On the Overgrown Path. Enjoying your show!

Oslo, Norway

Greetings from Norway, where the music scene is alive and well. We are former Portland residents with family and friends ties to the music community there—Metropolitan Youth Symphony, Portland Youth Philharmonic, Oregon Symphony, etc. Living abroad for the year has meant staying connected to things back home via the internet, and we have enjoyed your streaming programs, most recently John Pitman's interview with Amy Schwartz Moretti—a friend of a sibling.

Being in Norway, we're glad to see Grieg in your top 100, though we'd also really love to hear more contemporary music. One thing we've learned from our experience in Europe this year is that there should be more enthusiasm in the U.S. for living composers and their music.

Thanks for your hard work,
A. Filipoi and P. Swendsen

Dear friends,

Qatar

Dear Allclassical,

I am working – and living – in Qatar this year, and I will not send a photo of the construction site where I spend so much time, but I can assure you that having access to so much beautiful music through your web-site is one of the few things that keeps me going between each trip home. You would have understood if you saw this site. So please keep up the good work – you are saving someone’s santiy every day!

Minden is a small town nestled on the eastern base of the Nevada Sierras. There is nothing better than listening to my favorite station, AllClassical.org, while looking at the mountains. I encourage all listeners to support this station by becoming a member. The programming is excellent and the on-air hosts the best. Keep up the good work!

Just a little note to let you know how much I enjoy listening to your station. I am a retired photography teacher living in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. I still work every day on my digital photography, which is made even more pleasurable listening to your station. I was introduced to your station while visiting our daughter, who lives in Portland.

Dear All Classical,
Just a note to tell you that my Mother listens to All Classical 89.9 on the web from Ketchikan. The last hour of music was very enjoyable (10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Ketchikan time)! My husband and I are residents of Beaverton where we are members of KBPS and depend upon your wonderful programming. . . . Attached picture of my mother, Mary C Smith.

Hi,
I am listening to you from the top of the Mauna Loa volcano in Hawaii. There is an atmospheric observatory run by NOAA called Mauna Loa Observatory. The pic is taken from a live webcam. You can add this location on your map of internet listeners.

Corning, New York

After living in West Linn [just south of Portland] for seven years, my husband and I moved to New York to be near family. We've now been here 1-1/2 years and still talk about what a fantastic city Portland is and it seems as if we just left. Listening to your station via the web has helped me feel as though Portland isn't that far away. I listen as often as possible—thanks for the wonderful job you do!

I wanted to drop a line and let you know how much I love your station. I listen over the internet at work and it soothes my mind during the clutter of the work day. It may even make me more productive which makes my boss happy! Not being a classical music aficionado, I especially like having the playlist in my media player window so I can go out and purchase the music that I have enjoyed hearing on your station. I enjoy the good variety of style and tempo that flows from one end of the day to the other. Keep up the good work.

Thanks,
Danny

Lufkin, TX, Community Band Lufkin, Texas

I've tried out over 25 computer music feeds and you are definitely the best. Thank you for excellent programming.

My location is exactly halfway between Houston, Texas, and Shreveport, Louisiana, on U.S. 59. I teach music in our local Community College and direct the College Band and the local Community Concert Band, which is a true amateur organization in the very spirit of the word "amateur." We are people making music for the sheer love of music-making. Our musicians usually range in age from 17 or 18 to over 80 years of age. I have spread the word of your fine music programming to all our bandsmen; perhaps you will get more listeners from East Texas.

Thank you,
David Smith

Arriving on bicycle in Wisconsin Madison, Wisconsin

Hi there—
I started listening to y'all while finishing my Ph.D. at Stanford and living in San Francisco. As much as I loved San Francisco, there was not a decent classical station there. So.....I discovered your station and became a fan! My wife and I moved to Madison, Wisconsin, last summer (via bicycle—the photo is our arrival) so here we are! I still listen although not as much since there is a good local station here too. Nonetheless, keep up the excellent work!

Cheers,
Mike Fienen
