KBPS SPOTLIGHT

Kids Contest for KQAC 88.1

KQAC 88.1, our new repeater station on the north central coast, goes on the air June 1 from Tillamook to Yachats and communities in-between.

If you live at the beach and have kids grades K-12, tell them to enter our art/essay contest. Winners will receive radios and CDs for their classrooms and have their names mentioned on the KQAC airwaves.

From the Top LIVE in Portland

On May 31, Chamber Music Northwest, PYP and All Classical bring From the Top to Kaul Auditorium at Reed College for a live taping.

This special concert features acclaimed pianist Christopher O’Riley, plus performances by amazing musicians from Portland and across the country. Among the locals, 17-year-old violinist Becky Anderson, 14-year-old violinist Brandon Garbot, 18-year-old violist Griffin Gaffney and 16-year-old cellist Boris Popadiuk.

Big Birthday Celebration

Celebrate our 25 years of classical music -come to the gala at the Oregon Zoo on Saturday, June 21. Our keynote speaker is Bill McGlaughlin (pictured) of St. Paul Sunday.

The gala features an historic slide show, the announcement of our new CEO, wonderful music, old friends, a few surprises and more.

PCO Goes Underground!

Travel Opportunities Abound

In partnership with Earthbound Expeditions, we offer two classical music tours this year.

Our 5-day trip to New Mexico August 1-5 features the renowned Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, the celebrated Santa Fe Opera, private museum tours and indigenous markets.

Our European trip in October incudes Vienna and Venice interspersed with a visit to fair Verona where we will see Juliet's balcony (pictured). Expect classical music all along the way.
