The ring cycle concludes this Saturday with Gotterdammerung, Wagner’s cataclysmic climax of betrayal and loss as focus shifts from the realm of the gods to the power and ambition of human beings. It is left to Brünnhilde, played by Deborah Voight, in the legendary Immolation Scene that brings the cycle to a close and restores balance to the world. Gotterdammerung begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 11. Saturday Matinee, with your host Ed Goldberg, takes the main stage at 10 a.m. on May 18 and throughout the summer.
