Join All Classical Portland and host Edmund Stone of The Score for a special screening of Song of Love at the Hollywood Theatre, Saturday, April 29 at 2pm. This 1947 film depicts the story of Clara Schumann’s battle to save husband Robert’s health and resist the romantic overtures of Johannes Brahms. Starring Katharine Hepburn, Paul Henreid, and Robert Walker, Song of Love is a must-see for classical music fans.
“…it is truly exquisite music that has been sound-tracked by Mr. (Artur) Rubinstein. His finely recorded renditions, either in whole or in part, of such brilliant and popular numbers… make as beautifully audible music as has ever emerged, in puris naturalibus, from the screen.” The New York Times, 1947
