The Vancouver Symphony continues its 38th season with a concert that features the talents of the three gold medalists of the 23rd Annual Young Artists Competition. The concerts begin with the charming Lyric Suite by Edvard Grieg and will also feature Ottorino Respighi’s monumental Pines of Rome. Maestro Salvador Brotons conducts.
These masterworks by Grieg and Respighi will frame the performances by the three Young Artists winners: Ashley Teng (flute), playing Concerto for Flute & Orchestra, Movement 1, by Carl Nielsen; Symphony Koss (violin), playing Carmen Fantasy for Violin & Orchestra, Op. 25 by Pablo de Sarasate, and Trevor Natiuk (piano), playing Concerto No.1 in F-sharp minor for Piano & Orchestra, Op.1, Movement 1 by Sergey Rachmaninoff.
Performances on Saturday, April 22 at 3 pm and Sunday, April 23 at 7 pm. Both concerts are at the Skyview Concert Hall, 1300 NW 139th Street, Vancouver, WA. For details and tickets, click Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
