Ed Goldberg’s Saturday Matinee continues through the summer, taking the place of the Metropolitan Opera, now in its off-season. This weekend’s show includes a new piece: the Celtic Concerto by Catrin Finch, former harpist to the Prince of Wales. Also on the program: Banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck plays Tchaikovsky, Joan Sutherland sings Gounoud, and Orion Weiss is soloist in Gershwin’s Second Rhapsody. Other features include the theme from Star Wars, Korngold’s Violin Concerto, and the score to the 1960 film version of Huckleberry Finn composed by Jerome Moross, born 100 years ago this month. Whew! It all starts at 10 a.m. on August 3.
