Beneficiary Designations

Naming All Classical Portland as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA or other qualified retirement plan is a simple way to provide for the future of the station, while avoiding estate and income taxes. All Classical Portland can provide you and your financial advisors with the appropriate designation language to include in these financial vehicles.

Gifts of Securities

All Classical Public Media routinely receives gifts from members of stocks or securities. Appreciated stock gifts may yield distinct tax advantages for you. To find out more, please consult your financial advisor.

If you have a broker managing your investments, you can save both time and effort in making a gift of stock. The stocks you contribute will be sold and the resulting money deposited to the All Classical Public Media fund you specify.

If you hold stock certificates you wish to contribute, contact Amy at 503-802-9405 first to avoid delay in processing and recognizing your gift. There are a number of forms which will require your signature, including a limited power of attorney, which you should then return with your stock certificates.

Special tax-free gift option for 2014

For those over age 70½, it is once again possible to make tax-favored charitable gifts from traditional and Roth IRA accounts.

On December 19th legislation was signed into law that extends this special opportunity for gifts completed in 2014. Amounts given in this way will count toward 2014 required IRA withdrawal amounts.

A total of up to $100,000 can be transferred directly from traditional or Roth IRAs to All Classical Public Media free of federal income tax. There may also be state income tax savings.

To make such gifts, it is important to not withdraw funds prior to a gift, but distribute them directly from an IRA to one or more qualified charities. For those with check writing privileges on their accounts, this may be the most efficient way to make gifts directly from an IRA.

Check with your IRA administrator or your advisors for more information.

The legal name is All Classical Public Media, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Oregon. All gifts are used for general operations unless otherwise designated by the donor.

Please notify All Classical of your gift and provide the following information to help us properly credit your gift and send the appropriate acknowledgement.

  • donor name, address, phone
  • description / identification of securities
  • name and phone number of investment firm initiating transfer

The gift date for direct transfers of securities is the date on which the gift is received into our account.

Thank you for your support! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
