Local Portland author Anne Hendren earned degrees in Comparative Literature, International Affairs and French from Cornell, Columbia and Wellesley College. She has written articles and edited publications for more than 20 years. Hendren’s bylines showcase wide-ranging interests: the performing arts, literature, electronics and alternative medicine. Her 1999 book, Hidden Lives and Unhistoric Acts recounts how four ninety-year old Idaho women enhanced the quality of life in their community. Her current novel is “A Dream of Good and Evil.”  She is currently writing a novel on the decline of the New York garment industry and its reemergence in other cities.
