I became interested in radio while in grade school when my Dad and I visited a network radio station. That led to my Benson High School broadcast training at KBPS AM which even included hosting an evening classical show. However, a less exciting career path took me out of the area for several decades. A few years ago I returned. As I approached Portland, my first task was to tune to a classical station and, to my good fortune, I found All Classical Portland! Volunteering just a few yards away from my old high school broadcast facilities was just like coming home. The variety of interesting tasks, the friendly station personnel and now the station’s beautiful facilities overlooking the Willamette, make my volunteer day’s great fun and a highlight of my week.
