It’s totally tubular! The Canon Shakespeare Company is proud to present its production of As You Like It in Portland. Written at the peak of Shakespeare’s career, As You Like It is one of the bard’s smartest comedies, following Rosalind, her cousin Celia, and a whole cast of colorful characters on their journey to find belonging in The Forest of Arden.

This production sets the action in the 1980s, and turns The Forest of Arden into a punk bar, where all of society’s rules are overthrown and outcasts are welcomed. Manipulative and greedy characters such as Duke Frederick and Oliver will stop at nothing to gain more power and privilege for themselves, while other characters seek companionship, love and the freedom to express themselves fully. The script adaptation is by Canon co-founder and director Alec Henneberger.
