REGISTRATION IS OPEN for ORS YOUTH CHOIR’S 31^st SEASON! Serving kindergarten through 12^th grade singers in the greater Portland and SW Washington area, ORS Youth Choir is a one-of-a-kind program with unique opportunities for intergenerational singing, world premieres, and so much more!

Each season ORS Youth Choir and Oregon Repertory Singers (our adult choir) perform together, giving young singers a glimpse of the joy of making music well into adulthood. The Composer-in-Residence program—a partnership with COMPOSER STACEY PHILIPPS—has led to the premiere of more than a dozen works in the past three years and an “Encounter Choir” feature presentation at the 2024 Northwest American Choral Directors Association conference in Spokane, Washington. A wholly innovative partnership and opportunity for these young singers, the ORS Composer-in-Residence is a template for other future collaborations of this kind.

A guest appearance at the Oregon Repertory Singers fall concert, “HOMEGROWN: THINK CHORAL, SHOP LOCAL,” will kick off the season on October 26 and 27 at the PATRICIA RESER CENTER FOR THE ARTS in Beaverton. A special high school invitational, “CHOIRFEST NW,” led by ORS Youth Choir ARTISTIC DIRECTOR AUBREY PATTERSON and hosted by Portland State University, will surely be the highlight of the week for 100 young singers on Friday, November 8. As the holidays approach, ORS Youth Choir will perform at the beautiful “FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS” at THE GROTTO on December 4 and join Oregon Repertory Singers for the audience favorite “GLORY OF CHRISTMAS” on December 8, 13, & 15. A casual caroling performance at PITTOCK MANSION on December 14 will conclude the year, but that’s only the beginning. The season continues with a spring tour to Vancouver, British Columbia for high school students, weekend singing retreats, performances with Oregon Repertory Singers, and more.

REGISTRATION for ORS Youth Choir is open through September 30, 2024 to all young singers in kindergarten through 12^th grade: NO AUDITION REQUIRED.
