Enter Shakespeare’s forest: a place of magic, love, and transformation. Here, to honor Shakespeare’s first folio, we’ll be immersed in an evening of story and song inspired by 20th-century adaptations of his enduring works. Through sweet melody and poignant poetry, we’ll celebrate the natural magic of the bard—to honor that which enchants us still, four hundred years later. Featuring voice, piano, and a woodwind quintet from the Portland Opera Orchestra.

Enchanted Woods: Shakespeare & Song is sung in English with English captions above the stage. The approximate length is 1 hour and 40 minutes, with one intermission. For patrons who are blind or have low-vision, the Sunday matinee performances will include a live audio description of the action and dialogue onstage. This production has two matinees to choose from!
