THE SALEM PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA PRESENTS “QUINTESSENTIAL CLASSICS” ON OCTOBER 15 and 16, guest conducted by Dr. David Jacobs from the University of Oregon, and dedicated to the memory of recently departed Salem Phil Artistic Director, Travis Hatton. The concert begins with Elgar’s elegiac Nimrod in remembrance of Maestro Hatton. University of Oregon Associate Professor of Clarinet, Wonkak Kim, will be featured in Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A, and Brahm’s Symphony No. 2 rounds out the program. Concerts begin at 7:00pm on Saturday, and 3:00pm on Sunday. Salem Phil’s venue is the East Salem Community Center, 1850 45th Ave. NE, Salem, OR 97305. Admission: $20 (Adults ages 18-64); $18 (Students 18-64/Srs. 65+); $0 (children/youth through age 17). Season tickets to all five SPO concert sets for the price of four are also still available.
