Al Andalus Ensemble

Al Andalus refers to Spain from 711 until 1492 AD. During these eight centuries, Andalusian Spain witnessed a cultural melding among Africa, East and West, as well as among Christians, Muslims and Jews. Andalusian music is the courtly music of Medieval Islamic Spain. Professors Julia and Tarik Banzi present the Arab Roots of Flamenco, featuring passionate dance, palmas, ney, oud, guitar and song. The group’s compact discs will be available for sale.  Purchase tickets at the Music in Small Spaces website, or send a check to P.O. Box 285; Beaverton, OR 97075. Advance purchase is highly recommended. Learn more about Al Andalus at their website.
