The Clark College Concert Choir and Concert Band perform their British-inspired Fall concert. The Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Jacob Funk, will perform a mostly seasonal set of music featuring British composers from the 20th and 21st centuries. Works include The Lamb by John Tavener, My Spirit Sang All Day by Finzi, and one movement from Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. Works by Rutter, Philip Stopford, and Elizabeth Poston are on the program as well. The Clark College Concert Band’s portion of the evening, under the direction of Richard Inouye, presents a mixture of traditional British band and contemporary wind literature inspired by our neighbors “across the pond”. Highlights for the band include Gustav Holst’s iconic First Suite in Eb and Christmas Day, and a transcription for band of Eric Coates’ festive Oxford Street March from his London Again Suite for Orchestra.
The concert is free to the public.
