Magenta Theater: It’s a Wonderful Life
Magenta Theater’s December show is the stage adaptation of Frank Capra’s classic film that warms the hearts of families every year at Christmas time. It is the heart-warming saga of George Bailey, the Everyman from the small town of Bedford Falls, whose dreams of escape and adventure have been repeatedly quashed by notions of family obligation and civic duty.
The story begins on Christmas Eve. George’s guardian angel, Clarence, descends to save him from despair, and to remind him (by showing him what the world would be like had he never been born) this has been, after all, a wonderful life.
Artistic Director, Jaynie Roberts, states, “It is always a challenge to find family-friendly materials for our Christmas productions. And while this play is well-known, the casting of new, younger actors is sure to stir the hearts and imaginations of audiences.”
