NW Dance Project: Spring 2018, March 15, 16 & 17
Aimed to raise the bar, our spring shows are bigger than ever. For the first time since his US choreographic debut with NW Dance Project in 2007, world renowned choreographer Cayetano Soto, Ballet BC Resident Choreographer, makes his way back to unveil a gripping new dance work.
His new 20-minute world premiere for NW Dance Project, Flamingo 37, is a whimsical full-company work with creative staging, music from “the lounge era”, and costumes consisting of pink kilts and tops. A guaranteed good time… View an example of Cayetano’s work HERE
Sarah Slipper’s distinctly dark, theatrical, and vivid choreography takes on Henrik Ibsen’s incomparable 19th century play, Hedda Gabler, a classic of realism and world drama, for a world premiere dance work sure to dazzle.
Hedda Gabler, a classic of realism and world drama. Hedda is a full-length piece (appx. 45 minutes) with an original score from noted dance composer Owen Belton and innovative sets from Spanish designer Luis Crespo. View some of Sarah’s previous NW Dance Project creations HERE
