Opera Theater Oregon Presents Two Yosemites: An Environmental Opera

Setting to music the historic 1903 camping trip of President Theodore Roosevelt and renowned naturalist John Muir, Two Yosemites engages environmental ethics, policy and the legacy of our national parks, forests, and monuments in an hour-length opera performance.

This world-premiere outdoor performance features original music and libretto (derived from the writings and speeches of Roosevelt and Muir) by internationally recognized NW composer Justin Ralls. Tenor Aaron Short (fresh from his debut with Portland Opera) stars as Theodore Roosevelt, and Co-Artistic Director of Opera Theater Oregon (OTO) Nicholas Meyer, will premiere the role of John Muir, sponsored by the National Parks Conservation Association.
