Oregon Ballet Theatre: American Music Festival — Through April 27
The American Music Festival showcases three extraordinary contemporary choreographers inspired by American music makers, from a composer of iconic Americana to a NW indie folk band receiving national attention. Trey McIntyre presents his first OBT commission since Just in 2006, set to the music of NW folk band The Fleet Foxes. Swedish choreographer Pontus Lidberg creates a piece in collaboration with Portland-born and Julliard-trained composer Ryan Francis accompanied by a live chamber orchestra. Rounding out the program is the company premiere of Matthew Neenan’s At the Border, set to a riveting score by John Adams, and brought to OBT through the Robbins New Essential Works program. Performances run through April 27.
