Oregon Repertory Singers: XL
The final concert of our 40th Season will focus on the number 40 through music, including U2’s 40, and Thomas Tallis’s Spem in Alium. His piece was written for eight separate choirs of five voices each, totaling 40 individual parts.
XL also celebrates two of Oregon Repertory Singers’ greatest musical explorations from its 40-year history: the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff and Eric Whitacre, revisiting several pieces by each composer. We continue our tradition of advancing emerging composers, performing music by Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds and a wonderful young British star Paul Meallor, whose music was recently heard at The Royal Wedding. Performance repeats April 27, 4:00 pm. Individual tickets on sale November 1, 2013
