Portland State University College of the Arts and School of Theatre and Film: Romeo & Juliet

William Shakespeare’s masterpiece of young star-crossed lovers, and asks the question: What are you willing to die for? Family? Love? Honor? Anything? In this provocative production of ROMEO AND JULIET, you’ll be transported to post-war Italy, circa 1948, where “now . . . the mad blood is stirring.” Fasten your seat belts. This is NOT your father’s Shakespeare.

“These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder
Which, as they kiss, consume”
