Portland Youth Philharmonic: Concert – At- Christmas

Unwind after the holidays with PYP’s joyous annual family reunion!

PYP’s long-held Christmas tradition features performances by the Philharmonic Orchestra, Portland Youth Wind Ensemble, Portland Youth Conservatory Orchestra, Young String Ensemble, and an Alumni Orchestra.

The popular event showcases Portland Youth Philharmonic’s entire roster of 300 musicians, as well as an orchestra of nearly 100 alumni, drawing from the organization’s 94 years.

– John Williams: Theme from Jurassic Park
– Enrique Granados: Intermezzo from Goyescas
– Isaac Albéniz: Fête dieu à Seville
– Manuel De Falla: Suite No. 2 from the ‘Three-Cornered Hat’

In a mostly-Spanish-themed evening (with a little Jurassic Park thrown in for fun), every PYP ensemble takes a turn on the Schnitzer Stage; the overflowing talent is inspiring for all ages.
