Salem Chamber Orchestra: Poetry – from Arnold Schoenberg’s Society for Private Musical Performances

The dynamic American soprano Janet Hackett brings her elegant sound and vibrant musicality to a wide variety of musical experience, from Handel and Mozart to Barber and Gershwin. She has appeared regularly in opera, concert, recital and theater, comedy and vaudeville. Janet teaches voice at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. Program includes Debussy’s Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun (arr. Benno Sachs) and  Symphony No. 4 of Mahler (arr. Klaus Simon), featuring Janet Hackett, soprano. Join our principal conductor Nikolas Caoile at 2 pm for an informal pre-concert talk and Q&A, free with concert admission.
