VSO Pops Series: Winter Classics, December 9 and 10

Experience the magic of the holidays when the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra presents a Holiday Pops Concert filled with celebrated classics and popular favorites. Maestro Salvador Brotons returns to Skyview to conduct some of the season’s best traditional and contemporary holiday music in a spectacular concert for all ages.

The program showcases selections from the movies Frozen and The Polar Express, as well as Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, Leroy Anderson’s A Christmas Festival, and Sleigh Ride, Viennese waltzes and polkas, including The Beautiful Blue DanubeRadetzki’s March, Wiener Blut, and Tritsch-Tratsch Polka.

“Our 2016 Pops concerts were so well-attended, we knew we had to present a program that truly exemplifies the holiday season. Right now, the artistry and energy in Skyview Concert Hall is tremendous; there has never been a better time to experience the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra,” said VSO Board Chair Kathy McDonald. “It’s exciting to perform both classic and new favorites in what promises to be an extraordinary concert.”
