Join us on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25, 2021, for a special hour of music, memories, and gratitude. Host Suzanne Nance and producer Andrea Murray present uplifting music woven together with YOUR messages of gratitude and joy, creating a uniquely touching experience.

The Gratitude Program aired on Thanksgiving Day, and will be available in the Audio Archive for two weeks following the November 25 broadcast.

Cinnamon Bear on ICAN

December 1 – January 7, daily at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM PT

From December 1st – January 7th, the International Children’s Arts Network (ICAN) will air the classic holiday show about the adventures of Cinnamon Bear, daily at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM PT on icanradio.org.

First aired in Portland in November 1937, the six week-long series tells the tale of Paddy O’Cinnamon (The Cinnamon Bear), as he prepares and counts down to Christmas. Narrated by Bud Hiestand, the series features songs composed by Don Honrath and conducted by Felix Mills, with lyrics by Glanville Heisch. Vocals were provided by the Paul Taylor Quartet.

A Very Theatrical Holiday

Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 12:00 PM PT and Tuesday, December 21st at 7:00 PM PT

All Classical Portland will put a new spin on holiday classics by showcasing local theater companies and performers. A Very Theatrical Holiday will air at on Sunday, December 19th at 12:00 PM PT and feature performances by Lakewood Theatre Company, Broadway Rose, Portland Playhouse, and many more!

The program will be rebroadcast on Tuesday, December 21st at 7:00 PM PT.

Festival of Carols

December 22 – 25

Join us for our annual Festival of Carols, four days of cherished seasonal music from diverse cultures around the world. Enjoy beloved Christmastime classics, including excerpts from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and Handel’s Messiah, alongside new releases, and all-time favorite carols.

Festival of Carols includes a live broadcast of A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols from King’s College, Cambridge, on December 24th at 7:00 AM PT.

Classical Countdown

Friday, December 31, 2021, 7:00 AM PT - midnight

All Classical Portland will close out the year in style with its annual Classical Countdown, beginning at 7:00 AM PT on New Year’s Eve, Friday, December 31st, right up to midnight! Listeners can vote for their favorite classical pieces, doing their part to craft a celebratory soundtrack for New Year’s Eve.

Voting for our annual New Year’s Eve Classical Countdown is now open!

The poll is open December 1st through December 15th and the top 100 pieces will be revealed throughout the day on the 31st.
