Moved to Utah from Michigan and other locations. Happily ensconced in St George, which is in the SW corner of Utah. Our daily weather forecasts certainly differ from yours! We are in one of those locations which gets approx. 300 days of sunshine each year. All Classical Portland has been a wonderful find!! I have it on while I’m in my office working or just being distracted by online searches…When I travel, I listen using my Kindle or my Samsung Tablet. Doesn’t always work well on my Samsung cell phone.
As soon as I hear Edmund Stone’s voice, I start chuckling. The interviews with the young artists are top notch. It’s fun to hear the musicians’ exuberance and sometimes their young silliness. But, oh, the skills! I enjoy The Score, requests, Saturday Matinee or the Met presentations. What don’t I enjoy? What’s not to like? Anytime the radio announcers give a bit of history or a factoid about a composer or piece, I’m in total “WOW” mode. (Composer’s Datebook is right up my alley) As you can tell, I’m very happy that the announcers and staff are there to make my day… everyday.
