This morning Brandi Parisi played Prokofiev’s Lt. Kije Suite. In it I heard a motif used by Emerson, Lake and Palmer on their Works, Vol. 2 album. (1977, Atlantic Recording Company). The song I think was I Believe in Father Christmas, and no credit was given to Prokofiev. They also did a rendition of Moussorski’s Pictures at an Exhibition on another album, so I was not terribly surprised at the connection. Thank you for the mental challenge this morning. –Brian
