When the Locust
When the locust comes to the window
you must let your blood move to each side
making a path.
It’s okay if you have nothing to sing.
Sensation walks through you.
It’s okay to lie still.
To let the blooming happen all around you.
Perhaps you will be good again in the spring
when the flimsy grass pierces the earth.
