Portland musicians Greg Ewer and Adam LaMotte’s new CD

Sonatas for 2 violins

Greg Ewer is founder and director of 45th Parallel, and a violinist in the Oregon Symphony.  Adam LaMotte is founder of a new ensemble named The Orchestra, and is a member of Portland Baroque Orchestra.  Both musicians have lived in Portland for 15 or more years, but were born and raised in Houston, Texas.  They became friends in middle school, but only discovered they both played violin when they bumped into each other at Houston’s High School for Performing and Visual Arts.  Flash forward 30-some years, and the two successful violinists – and best buds – have just released their first recording together: The sonatas for 2 violins by Jean-Marie LeClair.  Music director John Pitman, who’s known Adam and Greg since they arrived here in P-Town, sat them down to tell us about this journey that they’ve been on for over a decade.
