
Celebrating Pride Month
June is Pride Month!
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month is celebrated each year in the month of June, in commemoration of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan–a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.
In celebration of Pride Month, this month All Classical Portland will shine a special spotlight on the lives and works LGBTQ+ community members, and many of the invaluable contributions they have made to classical music. Host Brandi Parisi presents Where We Live featuring Transpose PDX, a choral organization celebrating transgender and non-binary individuals. The Transpose Community Choir and Acchord a cappella group center the transgender, non-binary, and gender nonconforming community in leadership, membership, and focus.

Host Amy Faust presents Where We Live feature the Queer Opera. Founded in 2017 at Portland State University, Queer Opera is dedicated to providing a safe stage for LGBTQIA singers and allies to tell queer stories through the traditional genre of opera.
