The Mission is a 1986 film with a beautiful score by Ennio Morricone. But it was George Martin, the composer and producer most famous for his work with The Beatles, who first had the opportunity to score The Mission. After composing several chorales inspired by Bach, Martin had to leave the project because his schedule had too many conflicts. Those chorales have finally been recorded: you can hear them this week at Club Mod. We’ll also hear 24 Variations on a Bach Chorale by Fred Hersh, and other chorales, played and sung. Robert McBride hosts Saturday, December 2 at 9pm.
