Friends of Chamber Music presents the vocal chamber ensemble New York Polyphony. Praised for a “rich, natural sound that’s larger and more complex than the sum of its parts,” (National Public Radio), the group is regarded as one of the finest vocal chamber ensembles in the world. The Grammy-nominated male quartet applies a modern touch to repertoire that ranges from austere medieval melodies to cutting-edge contemporary compositions. The program is “Sing Thee Nowell,”an intimate meditation on Christmas featuring a sequence of unaccompanied music spanning seven centuries offering a unique, diverse and spellbinding musical experience. The concert is Tuesday, December 5 at 7:30pm at St. Philip Neri, 2408 SE 16th Ave, Portland. For details and tickets, visit the FOCM website.
