In this five-part program, the Oregon Ballet Theatre explores gender stereotypes by juxtaposing all-female and all-male ballets. A most iconic female role opens the program, that of The Dying Swan, which epitomizes the ethereal beauty and fragility of a romantic-era ballerina. The performance culminates as the two sexes join forces in Resident Choreographer Nicolo Fonte’s Left Unsaid. Performances run April 12 through 21 at the Newmark Theatre in Portland.
