PCSO opens the 2017-2018 season with a spectacular program in remembrance of the citizen-soldiers of World Wars I & II. Music has always been crucial to support and inspire our citizens. Maestro Byess conducts the orchestra in music accompanied by iconic images of the period that honor the soldiers who served abroad or those who ‘kept the home fires burning.’ Music was vital to tap into a reservoir of emotions to support, inspire, celebrate, and commemorate. Stirring symphonic music accompanied by historic imagery and selections from the popular music of the day truly honor those who have stepped to the forefront to protect our nation. Concerts Friday, September 22 at 7:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 1838 SW Jefferson. Portland, and Sunday, September 24 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Hood Community College, 26000 S.E. Stark St., Gresham. For details and tickets, visit the PCSO website.
