Cenerentola has gone by many names—Cendrillon, Aschenputtel, Angelina—but you might know her best as Cinderella. Cinderella’s stepfather, Don Magnifico, is a buffoon. Her stepsisters, Clorinda and Tisbe, are cruel.
Our heroine spends each day working as a chambermaid, until one fateful day when she falls in love with a prince. A storybook tale that is sure to charm audience members who are young, and young at heart, this new production of Rossini’s classic opera will glitter as brightly as Cinderella’s royal ball gown.
Performances are July 13 to 28, at the Newmark Theatre, Portland.
