Sophie Lippert

As your virtual concert hall, All Classical Portland is continuing to offer our Thursdays @ Three weekly concert to listeners around the world. This week we’ll hear a performance from pianist Sophie Lippert, who recorded this special concert from her home. Join us this Thursday October 15 at 3pm!

About the Artist:

Sophie Lippert is a professional classical pianist and teacher. She has played voraciously as a soloist and chamber musician alike, and has been praised for her sensitivity, dynamism, expressiveness, and evocative musical maturity.

Sophie began her piano studies at the ripe age of 3, and was taught by renowned Suzuki teacher Rita Hauck in Cincinnati. Soon after moving to Seattle at the age of 9 and beginning lessons with Yunbo Cassady (Washington MTNA Chair), Sophie entered the competition circuit, and quickly began earning solo concerto performances with youth and semi-professional orchestras around the area. Also an accomplished cellist, she was principal cellist in the Cascade Youth Symphony for three years.

Sophie attended the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where she received her degree in Classical Piano Performance under the tutelage of the inimitable Jon Kimura Parker.
