“All Classical Portland is excited to welcome Dylan Bodnarick to our On Air Host team. His enthusiasm for, and knowledge of, music of diverse genres makes Dylan the ideal companion for our Metropolitan Opera broadcasts, and music to welcome the weekend.“– John Pitman, Director of Music and Programming
“I have always found myself at my happiest when I am surrounded by an inspiring musical community. I am incredibly excited to continue to nourish that community alongside the fantastic team here at All Classical Portland.”– Dylan Bodnarick
Music has always been the central focus of Dylan’s life. Growing up, he was surrounded by the music his parents played around the house. Whether it was Dwight Yoakam, Outkast, or the Dead Kennedys, there was always something new for him to discover. Classical music became a large part of Dylan’s life in college, alongside jazz and electronic music. The opportunity to see live orchestras in person and the emotional impact of that experience opened his eyes to many new ways of understanding and appreciating music.
Dylan’s first experience in radio came while studying ethnomusicology during his undergraduate education at Indiana University. He hosted the Free Noise Hour on WIUX, a weekly show centered on all things experimental and avant-garde. Dylan moved to Portland in 2021 and has spent his time seeing live music, enjoying local restaurants, and exploring all the natural beauty that Oregon has to offer.
When he is not working at All Classical Portland, Dylan enjoys writing, recording, and performing music with several groups and as a solo musician.
