Meet All Classical Portland’s new Assistant Program Director, Producer and On-Air Host!
Early in life, Matt fell in love with film, particularly the film score. As he grew older, that appreciation expanded to encompass all eras of classical music. His career in radio began in high school when he worked as an afternoon host for a tiny AM station in his hometown of Gastonia, North Carolina. He enjoyed his experience in radio enough to major in broadcast management at Campbell University, graduating in 1999. Matt has had the pleasure of working with terrific colleagues at WVTF in Roanoke, Virginia, and WDAV in Charlotte, North Carolina, and now it’s his privilege to join the team at All Classical Portland. Though Matt hails from the east coast, Portland had been on his radar for several years as he visited friends here from time to time. He loves Portland’s rich, diverse arts culture—and the donuts! Blue Star’s glazed buttermilk changed his life… so when a position came open at All Classical Portland, he jumped. When Matt is not at the station, he pursues his love of art, history, travel, and wine. He also advocates for the Oxford comma.
Matt will work behind the scenes supporting All Classical Portland’s dynamite on-air team and will work his magic as a senior producer. He will also serve as the Managing Producer of our nationally syndicated program The Score. You might also hear Matt on the air, filling in and hosting specials, so stay tuned!
