Willamette University’s Roger’s Music Center and the Grace Goudy Distinguished Artists Series brings Pulitzer Award winning composer Caroline Shaw to Willamette University campus for a small residency starting January 31, with this concluding concert on February 2, 2022.
Included in the concert will be a world premiere by Shaw, commissioned for Zeller Chair in Dramatic Vocal Arts, Katherine Skovira. The program surrounding the world premiere will involve many musicians: students, faculty, artist associates, and guest artists, from solo unaccompanied works to string quartet and Willamette choirs. Works to include Shaw’s “To the Hands (cantata), “Gustave Le Grey,” “Valencia,” and “Manus Tua.”
