This program will feature Chamber Music Northwest participants Tara Helen O’Connor and Daniel Schlosberg. Flutist Tara Helen O’Connor is a charismatic performer noted for her artistic depth, brilliant technique and colorful tone spanning every musical era. Recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a two-time Grammy nominee, she is now a Season Artist of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. O’Connor is a member of several ensembles and is Associate Professor of Flute, Head of the Woodwinds Department and the Coordinator of Classical Music Studies at Purchase College School of the Arts Conservatory of Music. The music of composer and pianist Daniel Schlosberg has been performed by such groups as the Dover Quartet and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and his work has been described as “witty” and “ingenious” by the Wall Street Journal. Schlosberg holds a BA from Yale University and is pursuing his DMA at the Yale School of Music. He co-founded the composer-performer ensemble Invisible Anatomy, is co-Music-Director of Heartbeat Opera and a core member of the chamber ensemble Cantata Profana.
