To open this program, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra welcomes Spanish harpist Cristina Montes Mateo. She is featured in a challenging contemporary work, the Concerto Capriccio by the 20th-century Catalan master Xavier Montsalvagte. After intermission is Rimsky-Korsakov’s masterpiece, Scheherazade.
