In September 2024, the Portland composer Deena T. Grossman released a new album called “Thrice Burned Forest”. Like much of her output, the title work is inspired by her own experience in nature – in this case a hike through a forest that’s survived multiple wildfires. She spoke about the release and her approach to composition with Andrea Murray, on a recent edition of All Classical Radio’s contemporary music hour.
